- Cyclone Dana IMD Weather Update; Rainfall Warning for Karnataka | Odisha, West Bengal

Rains started with strong winds in Bhadrak district of Odisha. Meanwhile, waves surged at Digha Beach in West Bengal.
Cyclonic storm “Dhana” originating from the Bay of Bengal is moving towards the Odisha coast at a speed of 18 kilometers per hour. Rains started falling in Bhadrak, Odisha on Thursday morning. The cyclone will make landfall near Bitarkanika National Park and Dhamra Port around 2 am on October 24.
According to the Meteorological Center in Bhubaneswar, the landfall process will last for 5 hours. During this period, the storm will move across northern Odisha with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
The storm will have the greatest impact on Odisha and West Bengal. As a result, flights from Bhubaneswar and Kolkata airports will be canceled for about 16 hours from 5 pm on Thursday to 9 am on October 25.

West Bengal: Heavy rain is expected in East Medinipur, West Medinipur, South 24 Parganas and North 24 Parganas, while Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly and Jhargram will receive Heavy rain is possible during the 24th.
Andhra Pradesh: The Rayalaseema district of Andhra Pradesh is expected to experience wind speeds of 30 to 50 kilometers per hour accompanied by heavy rains.

Tamil Nadu –Puducherry: The IMD has issued a five-day heavy rain warning for the southern state of Tamil Nadu and some states in eastern India.
Chhattisgarh: Today, the meteorological department has issued yellow warnings to 8 regions. There may be isolated showers in the next three days from October 25 to 27. From October 25th to 26th, wind speeds could reach 40 kilometers per hour.

Five teams of the 7th Battalion of the NDRF arrived at the Bhubaneswar Airport in Odisha on Tuesday evening.
