Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli had fun during training.
India head coach Gautam Gambhir said he is not worried about Virat Kohli’s poor performance. Kohli’s hunger for runs remains the same as when he made his debut. This desire made him a world-class cricketer.
Gambhir told a press conference in Bengaluru on Monday that it would not be right to evaluate Virat after every game. I am sure he will score runs in the series against New Zealand and Australia.
Kohli has scored only one fifty in the last eight innings of Tests. He then scored an innings of 76 against South Africa at Centurion in December 2023. His performance in the recently concluded two-match home series against Bangladesh was also unspectacular.
In the first Test in Chennai, he scored 6 and 17 respectively. In the second Test match at Kanpur, he scored 47 runs in the first innings and 29 runs in the second innings.
Gambhir hopes Virat will return in New Zealand Tests Gautam Gambhir said – Hope Virat can regain his form and perform at his best in the three-match home Test series against New Zealand. The first match of the three-match Test series will begin on October 24 against New Zealand. My opinion about Virat is very clear, he is a world-class cricketer. He’s been doing so well for so many years.
If we get good results, then there’s nothing to worry about. Not every player is at his best every day. Our job is to continue to support the players. My job is to select the best 11, not to exclude anyone. We have to do eight Tests in a row and everyone’s eyes are on performing well.
Virat is the second player after Sachin to score the most runs in international cricket. In the history of cricket, only Sachin Tendulkar has scored 100 centuries. Virat Kohli ranks second with 80 centuries. Australia’s Ricky Ponting ranks third in scoring most centuries. He has scored 71 centuries.
Sachin scored 51 centuries in Tests and 49 centuries in ODIs. Virat has scored 29 centuries in Tests, 50 centuries in ODIs and 1 century in T-20s. Ricky Ponting scored 41 centuries in Tests and 30 centuries in ODIs.
Virat has been retired from T-20 Virat has been retired from T-20. He announced his retirement from T20 internationals after India won the World Cup this year. In the final against South Africa, he scored 76 runs in an important innings and became the man of the match. Virat has scored 4188 runs in 125 T-20 games so far. This includes a century and thirty-eight half-centuries.
