The incident took place between 2.30 pm and 3 am on Monday to Tuesday at Neelkanth Colony in Sadar Bazar police station area. ADCP Zone-1 Alok Sharma said that a 40-year-old mentally challenged woman was wandering around Neelkanth colony on Monday night. Sonu (alias Sahil Soni, 20), a passing resident of Janta Colony, saw her wandering alone and took the woman away and raped her.
After the incident, he ran away alone, leaving the woman behind. The ADCP told Sonu’s occupation was that of a carpenter. He is from Sagar.

When police investigated, they found the woman sitting near the garden around 4.30pm. He was then dressed and questioned. But she couldn’t say anything. Later, she was sent to the hospital for examination, and the doctor confirmed that she had been raped.
Woman continues walking for half a kilometer without clothes The defendant took the woman to an empty shed. There were police houses surrounding the scene. A caretaker’s family also lives here. From here, the woman walked naked for about half a kilometer. According to nearby residents, they did not see anything.
