The Indian government will spend Rs 1,000 crore to promote start-ups in the space sector. It will be spent in five days. Rs 150 crore will be spent in 2025-26, Rs 250 crore each in 2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29, and Rs 100 crore in 2029-30.
Union Minister Ashwin Vaishnav gave this information after Thursday’s cabinet meeting. Prime Minister Modi presided over the meeting. During this period, the Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) cleared two projects worth Rs 6,798 crore from the Railway Ministry.
Among them, the 256-km railway line in the Narkatiaganj-Raxaul-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga and Sitamarhi-Muzaffarpur sections will be doubled. A new railway line of 57 km length will be laid between Errupalem and Namburu via Amaravati. It will pass through NTR Vijayawada and Guntur districts of Andhra Pradesh and Khammam district of Telangana.
The expansion in Bihar will increase connectivity to Nepal and Northeast India. Movement of both freight and passenger trains will be facilitated. The two schemes will cover eight districts in three states: Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar.

October 9: Free food to be provided to the poor until December 2028 The federal cabinet meeting held on October 9 approved the construction of 2,280 kilometers of roads in the border areas of Rajasthan and Punjab with an investment of 4,406 billion rupees.
It has also been approved to continue free supply of fortified rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PM-GKAY) and other welfare schemes from July 2024 to December 2028. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Rs 17,082 crore will be spent for this purpose, all of which will be borne by the central government.

October 3, Railway employees’ 78-day bonus announced
At the union cabinet meeting held on October 3, a 78-day bonus was announced for railway employees. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said the government has approved a productivity-linked bonus of Rs 2,029 crore for railway employees.
He said the announcement will benefit 1,172,240 railway employees. The government has also approved Pradhan Mantri-Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) and Krishnanati Yojana. Rs 1,01,321 crore has been allocated for this purpose.

August 12: Modi Cabinet approves 12 industrial cities
The first meeting of the third Council of Ministers of the Modi government was held on August 28 at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in Delhi. Among them, the Union Economic Affairs Cabinet approved 12 new industrial smart cities in 9 states. These 12 industrial smart cities are distributed in 10 states and adjacent to 6 major corridors and will prove to be an important leap in promoting manufacturing. August 9: Rs 3 crore new houses built under Modi government’s housing plan, 8 railway projects approved
The Union Cabinet approved the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 scheme on August 9. Under the scheme, Rs 30,000,000 houses will be built at a cost of Rs 3,60,000 crore. Eight railway projects were approved to improve connectivity. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed about the cabinet decision. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 scheme, families belonging to the EWS/LIG/Middle Income Group (MIG) groups and who do not have any permanent housing anywhere in the country are eligible to buy or construct houses under PMAY-U 2.0. .Read full news…
June 10: Modi 3.0 first cabinet meeting

After being sworn in as Prime Minister for the third time, the Prime Minister held the first ministerial meeting the next day, June 10. Out of this, Rs 30 million worth of new housing was approved for the poor. A total of Rs 421 crore of houses have been built under the scheme in the past 10 years. Under this scheme, the central and state governments provide financial assistance for construction of houses.
