The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday announced the first list for the Awami League assembly by-elections. The party has announced candidates for seven of the nine parliamentary seats. Anujesh Yadav has received his ticket from Karhal. Anujesh is the brother-in-law of MP Dharmendra Yadav and the cousin of Akhilesh Yadav.

Tickets have been distributed to Dharamraj Nishad from Katehri, Ramveer Singh Thakur from Kundarki, Sanjeev Sharma from Ghaziabad, Surendra Diler from Khair, Deepak Patel from Phulpur, Suchismita Maurya from Majhwan. As part of the alliance, the BJP has given the Mirapur seat of Muzaffarnagar to the RLD.
It is reported that the candidate for Kanpur West Samau constituency has not yet been decided. The SP fielded Naseem Solanki, wife of Irfan Solanki.
Out of the 7 candidates, 4 are OBC, 1 is Dalit and 2 are common people. Among the seven candidates announced by the Bharatiya Janata Party, four are OBCs. One is a Dalit and two are from the general category. Among the upper castes, tickets were awarded to Brahmins Sanjiv Sharma and Thakur Ramveer Singh. Among the backward castes, a Kurmi – Deepak Patel, a Peacock – Suchmita Peacock, a Nishad – Dharamraj Nishad and a Yadav – A Nujesh Yadav has been sent out. Surendra Diler of Valmiki Samaj has bagged the ticket for Khair seat in SC category.

The Election Commission has announced the date for the elections to 9 assembly seats in UP to be held on October 15. Polling for these seats will be held on November 13. The SP has fielded its candidates in 6 seats so far. The by-election is seen as the semi-finals of the 2027 battle. The BJP is trying its best to perform well in these elections. Everything from organizations to governments is doing it.
Which political parties are allied with whom in UP?
Confidentiality Agreement: The BJP is a big party. NDA includes Subhaspa, Nishad Party, Apna Dal (Sonelal).
India: There is an alliance between the Congress and the Socialist Party. The SP has handed over Ghaziabad and Kher to the Congress. However, Congress is yet to announce a candidate.
Polydimethylsiloxane: Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) leader and Sirathu MLA Pallavi Patel has formed an alliance with MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM and Pragatisheel Manav Samaj Party. AIMIM has provided tickets to Mohammad Waris of Kundarki and Arshad Rana of Mirapur. Swayambar Pal of Pragatisheel Manav Samaj Party has been declared as the candidate for Majhwan seat.

9-seat by-election equation…
1- Kahal Seat: The Karhal assembly seat has fallen vacant after Akhilesh Yadav became MP. Dimple Yadav won the Lok Sabha election from this seat in Maipuri district. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Socialist Party received the highest number of votes in the Cajal Assembly with 134,000 votes. The BJP’s Thakur Jaiveer Singh polled 57,000 votes, 540 votes less than Dimple Yadav. The BJP has won the seat only once, in 2002.
Caste equation: Kahar seat is dominated by Yadav. There are 1.25 lakh Yadav voters here. The Shakyas came second and the Baghel and Kshatriya electorates came third.
2. Kate and Harry seats: MLA Lalji Verma won the Lok Sabha election from Katehari seat in Ambedkarnagar district. Thereafter, by-elections will be held here. SP continues to dominate in this seat. The BJP won only one election in 1992. If we look at the Lok Sabha election results, Lalji Verma got 1.07 lakh votes in Katehari Assembly while the BJP candidate Ritesh Pandey got 90,000 votes.
Caste equation: Kate Hari has the largest number of Dalit voters. Next came the Muslim, Brahmin and Kurmi electorates. Yadav Thakur, Nishad and Rajbal also played a decisive role. SP is an expert in creating caste equations.
3.Kundalki Seat: Ziaur Rehman Burke won the Sambhal seat on SP ticket. He is the MLA from Kundalki Assembly seat. In the Lok Sabha elections, the Socialist Party won the Kundalki seat with a record 57,000 votes. Ziaur Rehman Burke got 1.43 lakh votes here, while the BJP’s Parmeshwar Lal Saini got 86,000 votes.
Caste equation: The proportion of Muslim voters in this seat is about 58%. Apart from this, OBC and Dalit voters also play a decisive role.
4. Well seat: CM Yogi from Aligarh Khair seat and MLA minister Anoop Valmiki emerged as candidates from Hathras Lok Sabha seat. He won the election from Hathras. However, he is a member of the parliamentary seat from which he sits. The SP alliance received the highest number of votes there. SP’s Bijendra Singh polled 95,391 votes while BJP’s Satish Gautam polled 93,900 votes. However, after the RLD alliance, the BJP seems to be in a strong position in the by-elections in this seat.
Caste equation: There are a large number of Jat voters in this area. There are 1.10 lakh Jats here, followed by Dalits (50,000), Brahmins (40,000) and 30,000 Muslim voters. Apart from this, the number of Vaishya voters is also decisive.
5- Ghaziabad Sadar: The seat fell vacant as Ghaziabad Sadar MLA Atul Garg won the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP received a record 1.37 lakh votes in its assembly seats. SP-Congress alliance candidate Dolly Sharma polled 73,950 votes. An earlier by-election was held in 2004. Then SP got the win here. The BJP has won twice in a row here.
Caste equation: Vaishya and Scheduled Caste voters play a decisive role in the Ghaziabad Sadar seat. Jat vote bank is also important.
6- Mirapur: Chandan Chauhan, MP from Meerapur assembly seat in Muzaffarnagar, won the Bijnor Lok Sabha seat. However, he received fewer votes than the Socialist candidates in the parliamentary seats. SP candidate Deepak Saini got 89,429 votes and Chandan Chauhan got 88,438 votes. In this case, the by-election for this seat is bound to be a close contest.
Caste equation: Mirapur seat has over one lakh Muslim voters and over fifty thousand scheduled caste voters. Likewise, there are 24,000 Jats and 18,000 Gurjas.
7-Pulpur: MLA Praveen Patel won the assembly seat from Phulpur Assembly seat. In the parliamentary seats, he defeated the Socialists by 29,000 705 votes. In the past three elections, the BJP has won the seat twice and the Samajwadi Party once.
Caste equation: In Pulpur, there are 21 to 23 per cent Dalit voters and 20 per cent Yadav voters. The proportion of upper caste voters here is between 10% and 12%. The number of Muslim donors is 14%.
8- Middle seat: The BJP has offered a ticket to Vinod Kumar Bind, MP from Majhivan Assembly seat in Mirzapur district of Badoshi. Here he defeated TMC candidate Lalitesh Mishra. However, Anupriya Patel of Apnadar (S) won in Mirzapur. In the Majhwan Assembly seat, he had 1,762 votes more than the SP candidate.
Caste equation: The number of Dalits, Brahmins and Bindhs is 60,000-60,000. There are 30,000 Kushwahars, 22,000 Pals, 20,000 Rajputs, 22,000 Muslims and 16,000 Patels.
9-Sisamao Seat: SP MLA Irfan Solanki from Kanpur’s Sisamau Congress was sentenced to seven years in jail in the Jajmau arson case. That’s why a by-election is being held here. BJP’s Ramesh Awasthi wins Lok Sabha election. But he received less votes than Congress candidate Alok Mishra in the West Samau parliamentary seat.
Caste equation: There are 80,000 Muslim voters. The Brahmins ranked second with about 55,000 people. 35,000 for Dalits, 20,000 for Kayastha, 15,000 for Vaishya, 16,000 for Yadav and 2000 for Sindh-Punjab. The number of other voters is about 35.

Congress: Congress asked the Socialist Party to win five seats in the by-election. However, SP only gave 2 seats. It is unclear whether Congress will field candidates in these two seats or support Socialist candidates. However, Congress appointed observers on all seats.

By-elections have been announced for nine of the 10 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. Voting will take place on November 13. The results will be announced on November 23. The elections will also be held in Mirkipur constituency in Ayodhya. The seat fell vacant after Awadesh Prasad was elected to the Assembly. But the Election Commission postponed the elections as a petition by former BJP MP Baba Gorakhnath was pending before the High Court.
Baba Gorakhnath files for withdrawal of petition Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said, “Baba Gorakhnath, the PPP candidate from Milkipur for the 2022 Assembly elections, has submitted a letter to Allahabad High School The petition was filed by the Lucknow Bench of the court. Therefore, the by-election has not been announced in Mirkipur.
After the election date was announced, Baba Gorakhnath moved the High Court seeking withdrawal of the petition for holding elections in Mirkipur along with nine seats. However, no decision has been taken on this yet.
